At @happyops we are very happy to hear the news that Geshe Tashi Tsering has been asked by HH Dalai Lama to become the abbot of Sera Mey Monastery in South India. Sera Mey is one of the three principal monasteries of the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism.
Geshe Tashi Tsering’s clear presentation of Tibetan Buddhism is available in two correspondence courses run from Jamyang Center in London or online from the Jamyang Center web site. Rather than simply reading random books that you can find, these two correspondence courses offer a structured way of learning about Tibetan Buddhism in a gradual way. The courses are the ‘Foundation of Buddhist Thought’ and the ‘Lamrim Chenmo’. In both courses you participate in an online tutor group and follow a book and listen to teachings by Geshe Tashi Tsering.
At @happyops we are big fans of Geshe Tashi Tsering because of his clear presentation of the Dharma. We have completed both the the Foundation of Buddhist Thought and the Lamrim Chenmo courses. Geshe Tashi Tsering has a wonderful ability to walk through points of Tibetan Buddhism, cut through to the core issues, and compare Tibetan Buddhism with other Buddhist lineages.
We highly recommend the teachings of Geshe Tashi Tsering to anybody interested in Tibetan Buddhism:
